Kodiak Audubon's January 15, 2016 Program

Kodiak Audubon’s January Program is being presented by Robin Corcoran, Avian Biologist with the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge.  She will give a presentation entitled, “Dead Birds! Why so many Common Murres are Dying” on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Kodiak College in the Benny Benson Building room 106, right across from the main entrance.
Robin has been a bird biologist since 1988 and has worked on Kodiak monitoring birds for eight years.  She will present background information on common murres and seabird die-offs in general, and will discuss similarities and differences between past events and the current die-off. Come hear the latest information on what might be causing the birds to die and how volunteer citizen scientists are helping to study the issue.
