Come join Audubon for a light breakfast and birding from the duck deck on Potato Patch Lake. A number of different spotting scopes will be out there for you to look through. There's nothing quite like looking through optics before purchasing. Everyone who enjoys the outdoors is welcome: Bird Watchers, sportsmen and women, hikers, campers, and photographers.

2016 International Migratory Bird Day Celebration in Kodiak
This year's celebration will feature two birds from the Bird Treatment and Learning Center. Dave Dorsey will bring both a Bald Eagle and a Snowy Owl. The event is free to the public and families are welcome. The event will be held downtown at the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center. You can drop in between 10:00-11:30am to build a bird feeder. The presentation with the live birds will begin at noon and end around 1:00 pm. The event is jointly sponsored by the Kodiak Audubon Society and the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge.

Kodiak Audubon's January 15, 2016 Program
Robin has been a bird biologist since 1988 and has worked on
Kodiak monitoring birds for eight years.
She will present background information on common murres and seabird
die-offs in general, and will discuss similarities and differences between past
events and the current die-off. Come hear the latest information on what might
be causing the birds to die and how volunteer citizen scientists are helping to
study the issue.
