Celebrate International Migratory Bird Day on Saturday, May 21

Join us to build your own bird feeder and
welcome birds to your backyard!
Children under 8 years of age must have an adult assisting with this activity.
We will also feature a demonstration about the Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship (MAPS) program, a citizen science program which monitors songbirds in the Buskin area.
MAPS Trail Work 9 am - 4 pm
or get involved by helping to build and re-route a trail that is part of a song bird monitoring program. Trail work will commence at 9:00 am near Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters at the Buskin River with an orientation by Island Trails Network, and continue throughout the day until 4:00 p.m. Lunch and snacks will be provided for all volunteers who sign up.
Registration for the trail work is requested. Please contact Lisa Hupp at 487-0285 or Cindy Trussell at 486-2878 before May 17 to sign up so that we can count numbers for lunch. You are still welcome to help out and sign up after this date.
This event is organized and sponsored by Kodiak Audubon Society, Island Trails Network, and Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge and is part of Kodiak Audubon’s TogetherGreen Volunteer Days Grant to offer volunteer opportunities that significantly benefit the environment.
